Day 25 Devotional

“Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.”

Verse: Exodus 6:6 (NIV)

Somewhere along the line, we all seem to get the message that asking for help equates to being weak when nothing could be further from the truth. Asking friends, neighbors, classmates, family members, or even total strangers for help shows assertiveness, and that’s an admirable quality. Besides, we need one another to survive and thrive in this world. It can feel like a stretch of mindset and comfort zone to seek help or guidance rather than muster up, chin up and keep it up.

However, what’s perhaps even more comforting is the knowledge that you can always go to Christ with your troubles. His hand is outstretched 24/7, just waiting for you to grab hold of it. Going to Him with your concerns and struggles, whatever they may be, can often help you sort them out. Think of God as your virtual therapist. He’s the finest listener, He’s omniscient and He can lead you to the solution that best suits you. The key is to remember to raise your hand, bow your head and do whatever it takes to stretch yourself to become a better version of yourself.
